Our search engine supports three
matching patterns for keywords:
- Match ALL keywords-- This is the default pattern match. The search
engine returns results that contain at least one occurrence of each
keyword you specify. For example, if you specify the following keyword
criteria
Event Bicycle Evans
The search engine returns a listing of website pages that contain each
word, in any order: "Bicycle events in Evans", "Bicycle
trends in Evans, a community in Northern Colorado, are on the upswing
as recent events prove", and so forth.
- Match a combination of keywords -- You can specify that the search
engine returns results that contain a combination of specified keywords
by using AND and OR conjunctions. For example, if you specify the following
keyword criteria
Bicycle OR Evans AND Safety
The search engine returns a listing of website pages that contain either
the keyword "bicycle" and the keyword "safety",
or the keyword "Evans" and the keyword "safety",
or the keywords "bicycle", "Evans" and "Saftey".
- Match an EXACT keyword string--You can specify that the search engine
returns results that contain a specific phrase by using double quotes
around the phrase. For example, if you specify the following keyword
criteria
"Bike Month"
The search engine returns a listing of website pages that contain the
exact phrase "Bike Month".
If you find that you are getting too many search results, try narrowing
your keyword criteria. On the other hand, if you are not getting results,
try broadening your keyword criteria.
